Two days to travel from Marrakech to Fes through the Sahara — one of the most condensed yet spectacular routes in Morocco. The first day crosses the High Atlas Mountains, passes through the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and reaches the Erg Chebbi dunes in time for a camel ride and a night in a luxury desert camp. The second day heads north through the Ziz Valley, the cedar forests of Azrou, and Ifrane before arriving in Fes.
Both days involve long driving hours — approximately 9 hours on day 1 and 7.5 hours on day 2. Travelers who can add a third day are strongly advised to choose the 3-day version for a more relaxed experience.
Early pick-up in Marrakech. Crossing of the Tizi n’Tichka pass with panoramic stops. Scenic view of the Ait Ben Haddou ksar (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Lunch en route. Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon — camel ride at sunset, luxury desert camp, Berber music.
