Day 1 travels directly to Merzouga via Ait Ben Haddou. Day 2 is fully devoted to the desert: visiting a nomadic family, Gnawa music in Khamlia, the seasonal flamingo lake, and a sunset camel ride to the desert camp. Day 3 travels via Rissani and the Draa Valley to spend the night in Ouarzazate. Day 4 returns to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas Mountains.

DAY 1: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS → AIT BEN HADDOU → DADES VALLEY (approx. 6.5 hours driving)

Your 4-day desert tour begins with a comfortable pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Travel southeast through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass, with stops at panoramic viewpoints and traditional Berber villages.

Enjoy lunch in Ait Ben Haddou, where you will explore the UNESCO-listed ksar. This fortified village has been featured in films such as Gladiator, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones.

Continue to Ouarzazate with an optional visit to Atlas Film Studios, the largest in Africa. Then drive through the Rose Valley to reach the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic landscapes, “Monkey Fingers” rock formations, and stunning canyon views.

DAY 2: DADES VALLEY → TODRA GORGE → MERZOUGA DESERT → LUXURY CAMP

After breakfast, travel through the Todra and Dades rivers, passing palm groves and Berber villages. Stop at the spectacular Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive canyons.

Continue towards the Sahara Desert and the dunes of Erg Chebbi. On arrival, enjoy a camel ride at sunset across the golden dunes, followed by sandboarding and a magical desert experience.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT EXPLORATION → KHAMLIA → RISSANI → RIAD

Start the day with a sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, enjoy a 4×4 desert excursion to visit a nomadic Berber family and learn about their traditional lifestyle.

Continue to Khamlia village for a live Gnawa music performance, and visit Mefis village and the seasonal Bird Lake (if available).

After lunch, check into a riad in Merzouga for relaxation or free time near the dunes.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA → OUARZAZATE → HIGH ATLAS → MARRAKECH

After breakfast, begin the return journey through the scenic Draa Valley, with a panoramic stop in Agdez.

Continue to Ouarzazate for lunch before crossing the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech.

Drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech, marking the end of your 4-day desert tour.
