Six days from Tangier to Marrakech — the extended version of the 5-day tour with an additional day that includes Volubilis and Meknes between Chefchaouen and Fes, enriching the journey with Morocco’s most impressive Roman ruins and the imperial city of the 17th century. The pace is comfortable throughout, and the route covers the most iconic highlights of Morocco from north to south.

Overnight in a riad in Chefchaouen.
Breakfast at the riad and a scenic drive through Rif Berber villages. We arrive at Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman archaeological site: 3rd-century polychrome mosaics, the Arch of Caracalla, the Capitol, and ancient baths that bring Roman provincial life vividly to mind. Next is Meknes — the imperial city built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the late 17th century as his great capital: Bab el Mansour, one of the most impressive monumental gates in the Islamic world, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail with its marble courtyard and deep silence. Lunch in Meknes. Arrival in Fes by evening.
Overnight in a riad in Fes.
A full-day guided tour with a local expert in Fes, Morocco’s most fascinating medieval city. The visit includes the Royal Palace gates, the UNESCO-listed medina, the University of Al Quaraouiyine founded in 859, the Al Attarine Madrasa with its geometric stucco and tilework, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Chouara tanneries seen from leather traders’ terraces, the Jewish quarter (Mellah), and the fortress offering a panoramic view over the entire city.
Overnight in a riad in Fes.
Breakfast and early departure south. Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Cedar forest with Barbary macaques. Lunch on the way. Ziz Valley. Arrival in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Camel ride at sunset across the Erg Chebbi dunes — stop on a high dune for sunset. Luxury camp: private tent, private bathroom, dinner, and Berber music.
Overnight in a luxury desert camp in Merzouga.
Sunrise over the dunes. Breakfast and return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. Rissani souk if it falls on market day (Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday). Panorama of the Tinghir oasis.
