Pickup from Moulay Ali Cherif Airport in Errachidia or your hotel to begin the 3-day tour to Fes. The route follows the Ziz Valley with a panoramic stop overlooking the vast palm grove. We continue towards the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Erfoud, known as the fossil capital. Arrival in Merzouga, where an experienced camel handler awaits with dromedaries at the edge of the dunes. A camel trek of around 30 minutes across the sand ridges takes us to the desert camp. Dinner with local hosts and overnight under the Sahara stars.

Breakfast at the camp and return by camel to Merzouga. A full 4×4 desert exploration takes us off the tourist tracks. Visit to a nomadic Berber family living in a traditional tent near the Algeria border — tea, conversation, and insight into an ancestral way of life. Then we head to Khamlia village, home to descendants of Sub-Saharan African slaves, where we enjoy a live Gnawa music performance — drums, metal castanets, and hypnotic rhythms — and share time with the local community.

Breakfast and departure towards Fes around 8:30, following the Ziz River valley. Panoramic stop in the valley. Lunch in Midelt. Continue north through the cedar forest of Azrou, where with some luck we may see Barbary macaques living freely among the trees. Final stop in Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” an alpine-style town in the Middle Atlas. Arrival in Fes and drop-off at your hotel.

MARRAKECH OPTION ITINERARY

Drive towards the Dades Gorges via Rissani, the birthplace of the current royal dynasty and an ancient caravan crossroads, where we stop before continuing to Todra Gorge. Walk at the bottom of the canyon surrounded by 300-meter limestone cliffs. Arrival at Dades Gorges at sunset, dinner and overnight.

Breakfast and walk in the Dades Gorges before heading to Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Studios, filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, and many international productions. Then continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage clay ksar and filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. After lunch, cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) with a panoramic stop. Arrival in Marrakech at sunset and drop-off at your accommodation.
