This 14-day private Morocco itinerary from Casablanca offers a complete journey through the country’s imperial cities, mountains, Sahara Desert, and Atlantic coast. Starting in Casablanca, the route explores Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Middle Atlas, and the Merzouga Desert, before continuing through the Dades and Todra Gorges, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, Marrakech, and ending along the Atlantic coast in Essaouira before returning to Casablanca or Marrakech.
Your journey begins with pick-up from Casablanca (airport or hotel). First visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and a masterpiece of Islamic architecture.
Continue to Rabat to explore the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, two of Morocco’s most important historical landmarks.
After lunch in Rabat, continue to Fes. Arrival in the evening and check-in at a traditional riad inside the medina. Free time to explore the old city or enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, depart south towards the Sahara Desert. Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, home to Barbary macaques.
Cross the Tizi n’Talghemt pass and travel through the stunning Ziz Valley, a landscape of palm groves and Berber villages leading to the desert.
Arrival in Merzouga in the afternoon. Camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, followed by sandboarding and arrival at a luxury desert camp. Dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.

Sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga.
If the day coincides with Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, visit the traditional market of Rissani. Continue to Tinghir oasis and walk inside the impressive Todra Gorge with its 300-meter canyon walls.
Continue to the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic landscapes and winding mountain roads.

Travel to Ouarzazate, with optional visit to Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou and explore the ancient ksar on foot.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m) with panoramic stops along the way. Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon and drop-off at your accommodation.
